The trail was easy to find using GPS but there was a problem with parking. There is a small street by the south entrance but the neighbors don't allow parking there. We parked two blocks away at Farmington Junior High.
The trail is paved and shady. It's 2.1 miles long but we only traversed the Lagoon section of the trail.
The trail seems to end at 600 North but it continues on to Farmington Pond Lake. Next time we will park near the pond and follow the trail south. It was a beautiful fall day. The foliage on the mountains has already changed but the trees by the trail were still green.
The trail is well marked and easy to follow. There are many people skating, biking and using scooters. We saw people with dogs but they cleaned up after their pets so that was no problem.
Entering from the south and going north, we saw some of the Lagoon zoo animals off to our left almost as soon as we started on the trail.
There were some friendly horses opposite of the zoo and one of them tried to eat the sleeve of my jacket.
I had surgery on my eyelids and you can still see the bruises here.
I was intrigued with a log cabin next to the middle school. It has a cement foundation so it's not ancient but still interesting. There could be an architecture tour of the homes in this area as they are diverse and some are old.
The trail was built by Lagoon for maintenance purposes so you might see one of their vehicles. We didn't see any but we did see some of the old parts of the park.
The trail has been in use for a long time. There are a few old houses and old trees on the path.
Near the end of the Lagoon section of the park there is a covered bridge. There are three more bridges if you continue on the path and follow the section that runs next to the creek. We saw a little of the creek.
A nice person on the trail took our picture for us.
